Lima Love — Graffiti Art in the Streets of Lima, Peru

Lima Love — Graffiti Art in the Streets of Lima, Peru

Let me tell you about Lima, and the magic in its streets during the winter. The magic manifested the moment I arrived from San Francisco, as the airplane dipped through the clouds that covered the entire coastal City of the Kings, as if entering a world that is off map, that can only be found if you know its secret location. With no rain, and little sunlight, days and nights can be cool, but no matter where I was, it was always time for a cafe con leche, a savory bite, a sweet treat, or a Pisco cocktail that warmly welcomed me to the city where I was born.

One of the many reasons I enjoy attending IFBC is that I always leave inspired to try something new. And after this years sessions I am committing to working on 3 new things for Pisco Trail over the next 12 months:

  1. make cocktail videos
  2. write about popular trends

Wine Tasting + Pairing Sessions at IFBC

Focusing on food, writing, and technology, the IFBC is truly a one of a kind conference. And I am not surprised that the weekend that included great sessions, hilarious cooking demos, meals with new friends, bountiful bites provided by local chefs, and wonderful wine from Bordeaux and Washington, just flew by.

All weekend long, I felt like I was in school, carrying my Pisco Trail notebook with me, and taking meticulous notes on the topics being presented by different speakers. Friday’s technology session on building traffic for your blog, reassured me that there is still lots of work to be done. While Saturday’s food and wine pairing sessions, fueled my passion for grapes, after all, Pisco is 100% grapes. With all the drinking we did that afternoon, it definitely felt like school.

Pisco Trail is back from a 2 week culinary adventure in Peru, and I have many stories to share with you. But first, I need to get ready for the upcoming International Food Blogger Conference in Seattle this weekend. This post is the first of a 3-part series on this year’s IFBC 2013.

My first IFBC was 3 years ago in New Orleans, and instantly I felt that I had arrived home. Where else could I meet others who wanted to do nothing else than talk about food and drinks? Well, not just talk, also sample local treats, attend cooking demos, learn about food photography, brush up on our tech and SEO skills, and paint the town wine-red. That’s right, nowhere else.

Pisco Sour

If you follow Pisco Trail, you may have noticed that there have been very few posts on Pisco Trail over the past few weeks. No recipes. No cocktails. No pop-ups. What is going on? Nothing to be worried about dear reader, aficionado of Peruvian food, and imbiber of Pisco. Quite simply, it’s because Pisco Trail has been on the road.
